Minneriya national park
Minneriya national park was designated as a national park on 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in third century AD called Minneriya tank. The dry season it’s feeding ground for the hundreds of Elephants gathering around the tank ! Evening safari can be arrange by the villa for very reasonable price !
Wasgamuwa
Wasgamuwa National Park is a vast wildlife sanctuary located in the central region of Sri Lanka. The park covers an area of 36,948 hectares and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. The park is most famous for its large population of wild elephants, which can often be seen grazing along the riverbanks. Visitors to the park can also spot leopards, sloth bears, deer, and over 140 species of birds.
