Community Projects

Giving back to our local community

As a proud Sri Lankan owned and run business, it’s important to us that we use our resources not only to give our customers the very best experience, but also to support our local community.

As a locally owed business, the money you spend with us stays within our local economy and finds its way back into the community. Whether that’s through employment – we’re now able to employ over 20 local people to run Roy’s Villa – or whether thats via the community projects we fund and take part in.

Read on if you’d like to learn more about the projects we’re involved in.

Community Health

Helping local hospitals

Our local hospital plays a vital role in the community’s health and well-being. In Sri Lanka, medical supplies and equipment aren’t always funded adequately by the government so we’ve partnered with local hospitals to sponsored medical equipment and vital medicines that help the hospital to continue to offer medical check-ups and treatments to the community.

This partnership also extended to helping to provide pre-natal care for women in the community without proper support systems.

Food & Education

Providing for families

Having personally experienced the challenges of growing up not being able to buy new shoes or school supplies, we’ve launched initiatives to provide essentials like shoes, backpacks, electronics and books to less fortunate students. Our aim to give every local child the opportunity to succeed.

We also extend support to less fortunate families in the community via regular food donations and clothing drives, distributing essential supplies to families struggling to make ends meet.

Animal welfare

Caring for street-dogs

Sri Lanka’s street dogs are growing in population and so to is the number of sick and malnourished dogs who are often overlooked by charities and government help.

We do what we can to care for these vulnerable animals by providing food, and veterinary care to those most in need.Â
