Sigiriya or Sinhagiri is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock approximately 180 metres high! The place supposed to be 8 wonder of the works & main attraction in the home ! We do the hike for the sun set there !

Anuradhapura, located in northern Sri Lanka, was once the capital of the island nation for over a millennium. The city served as the center of Theravada Buddhism, with numerous temples and monasteries built during its peak. Anuradhapura is home to the Sri Maha Bodhi, one of the oldest surviving sacred trees in the world, planted over 2,000 years ago. The city was abandoned in the 11th century after being repeatedly invaded and eventually replaced by Polonnaruwa as the new capital. Today, Anuradhapura is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular destination for tourists seeking to explore Sri Lanka’s rich history and culture.

Polonnaruwa also referred as Pulathisipura and Vijayarajapura in ancient times ! The second oldest capital of all Sri Lanka’s kingdoms & Polonnaruwa was first established as a military post by the Sinhalese kingdom. The Ancient City of polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site. It comprises , besides the Brahmanic monuments built by the cholas after successful invasion . The monumental ruins of the Fabulous garden -city created by Parakramabahu I in the 12 centuries. We do a day trip with group of other people staying with the Roy’s villa with professional local guide to explain all the history & Buddhism!

Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses.

Climbing Pidurangala Rock is something every visitors should do while traveling Sri Lanka . Ritigala is an ancient monastery located in the north-central province of Sri Lanka.
